Eight fugitive defendants arrested in Saptari

Police have arrested eight fugitive defendants from various places in Saptari district in last days.

Arrested on various charges, they were on the run for a long period of time while their cases were still under consideration at the Saptari District Court, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Bhim Prasad Dhakal.

The arrested fugitives charged with murder case are Khusilal Mandal and Mishri Lal Mandal of Yogimai Municipality-2 in the district and Panchadev Khaga.

Similarly, five held on witchery charge and were absconding are Rajaram Mandal, Rameshower Mandhel, Deepak Mandal, Dukhi Mandal and Brahma Mandal, according to the District Police Office, Saptari.

The arrested were produced before the court and were sent to jail at Rajbiraj yet again, said SP Dhakal.
